To recall, the OnePlus One smartphone was launched in April last year with some staggering specifications at a rather low price and was called as the '2014 flagship killer'.
OnePlus took to its social channels (Facebookand Twitter) to thank partners who worked with the company for the OnePlus 2 smartphone. The post said, "The wait is almost over. Thank you to all of our partners who helped make the #OnePlus2 possible! Together, we've created the 2016 Flagship Killer."
OnePlus on Wednesday announced that its OnePlus 2 smartphone would get a "new and improved" invite system. The company confirmed that it would have more invites on offer, alongside having "more launch inventory than last time". Much like last time, OnePlus 2 buyers would receive invites to share with friends, but this time OnePlus claims they would arrive faster.
A number of specifications and details of the OnePlus 2 smartphone have been revealed by the company, including dual-SIM support; a 3300mAh battery; Oxygen OS (likely to be as close to stock Android); a fingerprint sensor; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC; a USB Type-C port; 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and possibly a metal build. The company has tipped the pricing of the smartphone to be between $322 (roughly Rs. 20,500) and $450 (roughly Rs. 28,500).
OnePlus is set to launch its OnePlus 2 smartphone at a virtual reality event on July 27.
